    • Defense Type (Japanese 2006 Series)
    • Counter Type (on the data of the Alpha Fortress version)
  • Arcade Nickname: 小さな王者 (The Little King)
  • Other: Meta-wise, Mini-King was the prototype for Chomp, taking his role as Max's partner dinosaur in the manga version, which predated the anime. Not matching any specific other dinosaur and rather cartoonish compared to the rest of Dinosaur King, it is confirmed in the manga as being a hybrid child of a Triceratops and a Styracosaurus.

Availability[]

Mini-King was only released in Japan in the CoroCoro Comic and was a promo card for the 4th Edition, though the card is compatible with English machines.

Trivia[]

  • DS Game Encyclopedia entry: Small, but powerful when it needs to be. It is not clear what it'll grow up to be.
  • Its card was the second exclusive card in the Japanese arcade, and was the second exclusive card in 2006.
  • Although not stated, Mini-King appears to be about 15-20 feet (4.5-6 meters) long in arcade and DS battles, though is seen chibi-sized in the manga.
  • In the DS game, Mini-King is shown in the Encyclopedia reference to be as small as a chibi, despite its large size in battle. Its name meaning is also just "Mini-King" and its Classification and Length are both "?".
  • In the manga, King's biological parents are a male Triceratops and a female Styracosaurus, making King a hybrid dinosaur of two separate ceratopsian genera, the only hybrid dinosaur in the Dinosaur King franchise.
    • From a scientific point of view, it is difficult to judge whether this is actually possible. While Triceratops and Styracosaurus are both ceratopsian dinosaurs, they are in different subfamilies: Triceratops is a chasmosaurine, while Styracosaurus is a centrosaurine. This does not make hybridization completely impossible, but very unlikely.
  • For an unknown reason, Mini-King is not present in the Kyoryu-King Dinosaur Museum, even though the even more cartoonish Tsintao is.
